To Sleep in a Sea of Stars
by Christopher Paolini
Paolini's Inheritance Cycle was one of my favourite book series as a teenager. He does not disappoint with his venture into Sci-Fi. To Sleep is very comprehensive in its lore and you can tell the huge amount of research that Paolini undertook to make the science elements as plausible as possible. Paolini's writing style is as easy to read as ever. My only mild criticism is that this is a large book and can feel like it drags on a bit at times: I did run out of steam for a bit reading this.
