You Shouldn't Have Come Here by Jeneva Rose

Did not finish book. Stopped at 32%.
The writing is atrocious. It felt like the author was trying to stretch out the story by saying blatantly-obvious things, throwing in extra adjectives, using longer words when shorter would be fine (and more commonly used), etc.

One passage is something like, "Other girls are like turnips, but Grace is like an onion - layered, complex, with so much to offer." And then the character went on to list different ways to cook onions. I felt like Forrest Gump hearing all the ways to cook shrimp.
