Ross Poldark by Winston Graham

Did not finish book. Stopped at 21%.
I absolutely LOVED the tv series for these books and wanted to get a more detailed story by reading the books. However, what was portrayed as a same-age (ish) relationship in the show was actually an age gap (13-23) relationship that began with a  father/daughter dynamic and progressed to a romantic relationship once the younger turned 17. When I know by watching the tv series that he falls in love and marries this girl, but calls her “child” when they first meet… 😳 instant ick and DNF. I fully understand that age gap relationship were common in the time period these books are set in, but that doesn’t mean I want to read about them.
