Such a classic!

Over the years, I have read this book multiple times.  Though the themes that resonate with me each time are different, I love it every time (in spite of the sobbing).

Who doesn’t love a story where there are cute animals that can talk?  Yes, I went through a phase in childhood where I wanted a pet pig because of this book.  And I might have tried to spin a web out of yarn.

This story of friendship and the acceptance of others is beautiful.  The friendship between Wilbur and Charlotte is one that everyone should strive for—full of fun, respect, loyalty and support.  Witnessing the animals in the barn as they learn to accept Charlotte and even Templeton was a good lesson that everyone can contribute to making a community grow and strive if given the opportunity.

Highly recommend this book and the 2006 movie.  Julia Roberts voicing Charlotte was perfect!
