MEG JONES - CLEAN POINT

i really enjoyed this one!
I was in a slump after abandoning my last read from over the weekend, because I couldn't, for the life of me, relate to the FMC. Au contraire, here, I was all over the headstrong heroine! There were similarities with entanglements of a sexual kind between the characters of these books, but it didn't feel forced down my throat, was more of an emotional response to trauma than doing it to spite heteronormative standards aimed at women.

Suffice to say, I adored the plot. An older and injured male tennis star getting paired with the rebellious youngling? Being forced to sell their mixed doubles act via a marketing campaign? Getting set up in camp, in a Greek villa? Having to open up to learn to trust and not wait for each other's backhands all the time? The nicknames?
Chef's kiss!

Nico Kotas was the epitome of all book boyfriends, starting with his grumpy first introduction, followed by the teasing, care and understanding nature of his. And not to be left out - the star of the show - his absolute and total smitten, love-sick face and all-in nature when it came to loving Scottie.
As I said- chef's kiss!
Scottie was a hoot, always teasing and bantering away, while having steel of a spine, stubbornness and an abundance of daddy issues. I was content and appreciative of how the story dealt with her experiences regarding sexism in sports, women athletes and the craziness of social media.

The book reminded me a bit of[b:One on One|204316875|One on One|Jamie Harrow|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1708543554l/204316875._SY75_.jpg|157122383] simply because of the dreamy MMCs and the themes throughout! I guess now I know a niche sports romance trope I thoroughly enjoy!
