Oh, Klune. Master of heart-warming stories that are filled with dark undertones, beautiful world-building, and peculiar characters. I can't even deal with these emotions right now ðŸ˜
One day, Wallace - a grumpy, cold-hearted fool - finds himself watching his own funeral. In disbelief, he is guided by a reaper, Mei, who takes him to a strange little tea shop, Charon's Crossing. It is here which Wallace must come to terms with his past life, where he is given 7 days to cross over, through the whispering door. Making friends along the way, Wallace soon realises all that he has lost, and has to come to terms with the man he used to be.
I absolutely adore this book! It's so raw and emotional, yet lighthearted and whimsical. I'm usually a horror fan through and through, but I have all the time in the world for Klune's cosy, thought-provoking work.
