I won't lie, after book 5, I was nervous about reading this book. But to my utter surprise and delight, it was nonstop action. I didn't want to stop reading.
As always, I love Claire. She is such a great character, and I love seeing how she attempts to apply her modern medical knowledge to the past. I also liked seeing how Brianna did the same with her engineering skills.
Roger, who I couldn't stand in Fiery Cross, had a great character arc in the book that I appreciated.
Also, that ending?! What?! I did NOT see that coming.
I do think this book could have been a smidgen shorter. I also think the author could take a bit more care when it comes to discussing race, which has been a consistent issue for me.
