The Golden Age, Book 2 by Roxanne Moreil

4.0

Many years later, Tilda has hired a mercenary army using the treasure of Ohman to lay siege to the capital to take back the throne. She feels betrayed by her old friend who joined the revolutionaries and refuses to make an alliance with them, even though their help would win the war for her. But she is blinded by the light from the treasure chest and by her desire for the throne. Will she finally learn the truth of what the chest holds or will the kingdom continue to suffer?

A good ending to this medieval fable. While it’s a good ending, it feels rushed and jumpy in it’s story-telling. The art continues to be gorgeous. I was just hoping for a bit more fantastical in the story, as it seemed to hint at in the beginning. Still a lovely read. 4 stars for the art, only 3 for the story.
