Bluestar's Prophecy by Erin Hunter
3.0

This book is more of a 2.5 for me. I wanted to like it but a lot of it just felt forced or just trying to pull heart strings for the sake of it instead of actually making a real effort. Moonflower felt like she had "I'm going to die soon." tattooed on her forehead.
Bluefur and Oakheart's relationship only exists for the last 100 pages and was only a one night stand resulting in kits.
Mosskit just felt like the Erins threw her in to just pull on the emotions more.
Most of the other characters I liked to some degree except Goosefeather just felt weird and for all of Thistleclaw prophecised evil and blood filled future, it only really starts showing during the last third of the book.
I honestly wanted to give Thrushpelt a hug for loving such a cat unworthy of his affection.
I liked Sunfall/star but his choice of Bluefur as deputy felt out of nowhere. In fact a lot of Bluefur's achievements just felt hollow and rushed. Because she never really acted like she was willing to serve her clan and was just doing the bare minimum to get cats calling her on her behavior off her back.
This was just a disappointing, bloated novel and I won't be reading again.
