The Institute by Stephen King

4.0

Stephen King has a way of telling such a thrilling story that it sucks you right in!

‘IT’ was my first ever novel and ‘The Institute’ is my next and second. And I’m very happy to have picked it up.

It’s honestly as good as the synopsis describes. You feel scared for the children taken and the things that are done to them. You also root for them thinking about escaping and hate the adults that hold them there. Even though some (like Maureen) appear more sensitive and understanding to what the children are going through. Others you just hate. Full stop.

I also couldn’t help imagining Tim the former cop as Hopper from ST, as I felt like his actions were kind of similar.

This book has made me want to read more of King’s work and I’m going to aim to get ‘The Shining’ next.
