blooms_in_books 's review for:
Dress Codes for Small Towns
by Courtney C. Stevens
Also finished this forever ago with intentions to write a fully fleshed out review, but alas, 2017 continues to kick my ass so I'll go with a rather brief one instead.
Stevens always writes really thoughtful novels with vibrant characters, but she really tried to stretch her writer legs and incorporated a lot of diversity in this book. I liked the dynamics of the characters' different personalities and friendships/relationships presented in the novel, but even more so that when she could have just went with stereotypes, she delivered a little more depth. It was a good book, and one that I think teens should read, but even more so, one that I think they'd appreciate.
