I loved this book, and I will certainly read the next book in the trilogy, but I do think it took a long while to get where it was getting. Since I know it's a trilogy, it doesn't bother me much, but still, it's not a perfect book. I do think that I still don't entirely understand the magic in this world, which would bother me only if I didn't know there was more coming. I *do* think the Dara/Nahri love story angle isn't as developed as it needed to be to make sense, and that wasn't ideal. I love the complexity of the world, and I am excited to learn more.
Moderate: Gore, Violence, and Death
