The Fowl Twins by Eoin Colfer

4.0

Satisfied a long pent-up craving for more Artemis adventures. Artemis is not in the scene of the action but his presence lurks all the same. The Fowl twins, Myles and Beck, are welcome additions to the Fowl-Fairy universe. This should be the first in a series of adventures for the Fowl twins. I can't wait.

The text flows as Eoin Colfer packs together an entertaining YA book. Colfer has subtly changed the tone of the narration to have a little more levity. (Maybe it's the effect of writing the latest volume to the Hitchhiker's series.) It doesn't overshadow the best Artemis Fowl books but those are high standards to match so I won't complain.

Myles is not quite Artemis and Beck definitely isn't anything like Artemis.

Then again, no one is exactly like Artemis Fowl.
