The Girl You Left Behind
by Jojo Moyes
emotional
hopeful
inspiring

medium-paced
It was a beautiful and a sad story at the same time. Half of the book is set in during the First World War and the other in 21st century London. There were a few plot twists that I did not see coming and even though it is a lengthy book, they helped to keep me invested in the story. Both Sophie and Liv went through a lot of tragedies, but were strong and hopefull. The writing is very good and it has a lot of details and portraies of a war from the perspective of women that were left behind while their husbands went to the front lines.
