This was a fun, easily digestible fairytale-like read in which the dry sense of humour made me laugh out loud multiple times. I will devour any book with a found family trope and cast of quirky characters (the grumpy dust-wife and her demonic hen were my favourite). However, I do have to say that the plot left much to be desired when it comes to believability. Marra’s motives just weren’t convincing enough to me to justify all other events in this book. I didn’t mind too much though: I expected a fun, guilty pleasure read and that’s exactly what I got.
