The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri

5.0

I actually listened to this book [on CD], but the impact was dazzling. It is simply exquisite--emotional, but measured; thoughtful and engaging; provocative and evocative, and what is more, really brings, in a new way, the question of racial and national identity to the forefront of one's conscious thoughts without being manipulative about it. I did not want this book to end.
