This book was so fantastic and uncomfortable. I loved Emira and found her so deeply relatable as a young twenty-something. Kelley and Alix were such perfect embodiments of the characters we meet in real life, how uncomfortable even the “wokest” white folks are, and how desperate they were to use Emira to make themselves feel like “good people”. So so good.
