Economics in One Lesson: The Shortest & Surest Way to Understand Basic Economics by Henry Hazlitt
4.0
I found this book to be broadly quite useful. I am by no means an economist, so I can offer little in the way of an informed critique of some of the specific principles that Hazlitt offered, but I did find many of the ideas to be congruent with other systems of balance I've interfaced with. Specifically, I found the idea of a gain for one group often coming as a loss to another group (when things are reallotted or restricted) consistent and sensible as a claim. Perhaps my only fault of this book (beyond the hyper-male focus ubiquitous in books of this time) is in Hazlett's assertions surrounding how these specific balances should be struck, but beyond that, I found this book to be very easy yet informative. I would reccomend it to anyone looking to wet their beak in the field of economics.
