Rhinocéros by Eugène Ionesco

3.0

This was such a weird book... I mean it's Ionesco so I knew that it would be but still... It was very very weird...

JEAN: I don’t care what you feel. Brrr…

A comfortable and peaceful town of France suddenly sees something quite unusual happen. Indeed, a rhinoceros crossed the town's square. Quickly followed by another one. Debates arise, was there only one, or two? How could this be possible? Are they/Is it Asian or African? I tell you, it didn't end well. Soon, colleagues of the protagonist start metamorphosing into rhinoceroses, including his best friend and his girlfriend. Berenger ends up all alone, surrounded by rhinoceroses and he is determined to survive.
