An enjoyable read that took me a bit to get into. I’m not American, but grew up next to some rare Canadian Evangelicals and so I can somewhat understand the experience. This will speak to many Americans raised in the church and the bizarre and tacky experience that is being indoctrinated as such. Schlich did a good job of capturing this crossroads of American individualism, blind faith, and capitalist tendencies.
