My recap:
Maggie, a wolf-shifter, was captured and tortured by the evil Kurjan vampires 10 years ago. She hasn't regained the memory of her life before then. She's been living with the good vampires of the Realm, but the king has sent her on a mission to wolf headquarters. Right where Terrent Vilks wants her.
Terrent is a hunter and assassin for the wolf-shifters. And he's known all along who Maggie is. She's his mate. But he's been waiting for her to regain her memory while he's been fighting the war with werewolves and the Kurjans. Now he's done waiting.
But Maggie's past comes back to haunt them both.
My thoughts:
It was refreshing to see Terrent as a fleshed-out, sympathetic character instead of the jerk that he's often been throughout the series. Sure, he can still be a jerk, but he's a lovable jerk.
It was good to see Maggie get some answers about her past, even if they were difficult for her to face.
This novella is a fast-paced, quick read. There's lots of sex and violence, but there are tender moments, as well. The ending is a bit obvious but satisfying nonetheless.
Twisted is a welcome addition to the series that provides some answers and an HEA for two tragic characters.
