Everything is Horrible and Wonderful: A Tragicomic Memoir of Genius, Heroin, Love and Loss by Stephanie Wittels Wachs
5.0
Wow! What a powerful, well written, moving memoir. I listened to the audio version, which was narrated by the author, and I highly recommend it. The author makes you laugh (which seems impossible), cry, smile, cringe.....all the feelings. Although the memoir is largely about Wachs' journey with her brother and his drug addiction, there is so much more - having a daughter born with a hearing loss, pursuing your dreams, living life to the fullest. I wasn't familiar with Harris Wittels before this book, but I am definitely going to search out some of his work now, and I will definitely keep Stephanie Wittels Wachs on my radar because I think we will hear from her again (I hope!).
