Truly, an amazing read. I had very high expectations for this book and every single one was meant. The characters were very loving, they felt like real people with emotions. Alina was written gorgeously, her character and personality were very well-rounded and thought-out. The relationship between the darkling and Alina was amazing
the double-crossing the darkling causes Alina was such a huge plot twist, we all thought he truly loved her, and then he was manipulating her the whole time, and using her for her power
I have very high expectations for the second book and rest of the series, can't wait to see how these characters grow and continue in these stories. My one flaw in this book was some slow storylines, I wish we had learned about the stag earlier on in the story, and that everything would have moved a little faster cause from about pages 100-175, it was just storylines about Alina getting used to the little palace. But overall, a very good read, very excited for the second book and the rest of the series. Definitely an 8.5/0 read.
