The Sandman Vol. 7: Brief Lives by Neil Gaiman

4.0

Delusion and Dream search for Destruction, with no help from Desire, Despair, or Death. Destiny give them answers, but not the ones they want to hear. In the end...well, it's not what you expect...which is what you should expect from Mr. Gaiman.

This volume is unlike any of the previous ones. Where we're usually treated to mere mortals (or sometimes Demons) and their interactions with Dream, this volume flips that. We follow two of The Endless and occasionally cross paths with mortals (among others). It was fantastically done and actually very light on the horror stuff, which is also very different. So far, it's my favorite volume of the series.
