As someone who is a bit squeamish about horror, I really enjoyed the level of tension in these short stories. There's enough that's revealed to give you the heebie jeebies, but there isn't enough to keep you up at night. I also liked the way elements of folklore and real life violence were woven into the stories alongside brand new sources of fear. This gave the individual stories a good amount of depth despite their brevity, and helped tie them together.
