The Family Upstairs
by Lisa Jewell
I had a hard time getting through this one, not because it wasn’t interesting, but because it felt slow and I didn’t connect with the characters. Also so much of the situations in the book felt “gross” to me, understandably given the circumstances. I pushed through (one of the few times I’ve been ok with speed reading) mainly because I trust Lisa Jewel to bring a satisfying explanation in her endings. Nothing blew my mind but I did find a few of the twists interesting. Can’t say I loved the book but also don’t regret reading it. I probably would have preferred audiobook version for this one.
