Ain't I a Woman: Black Women and Feminism
by bell hooks
Although I didn't agree with all of hooks' assumptions and conclusions, I found this summation of the history of Black women and feminism in America both eye-opening and validating. I strongly recommend this book to anyone in America who considers themselves a feminist and especially to those who do not understand the mistrust Black women sometimes express towards white feminists.
