Honestly I just didn't understand the message/story the author was trying to tell, so maybe it's my own fault I didn't like it as much as I hoped I would.
I thought the focus of the novel was going to be the relationship between Juan and Nene, but the majority of the book is them telling each other stories about other people. It's hard to connect with the main characters of a novel when 80% of the novel is about other made up characters. On top of not getting enough time with the Juan and Nene, the story was difficult to follow because none of the their stories are actually connected.
This one just really missed the mark me for me.
