A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine
5.0
Wow, first the Goblin Emperor and now A Memory Called Empire, apparently I do like court intrigue. At least when it's done this well . Quite like the aforementioned Goblin Emperor this book also throws you in at the deep end right along with the protagonist, thrust into a rich and confusing world. I can see how that may be off putting to some but as I got to grips with the world of the Teixcalaanlitzim I found myself thoroughly captivated by the political intrigue, the intricate plotting, and the rumination on the nature of empire.
