That One Moment by Amy Daws

5.0

Good god! With each book I read, from Amy Daws, I am blown away by her talent. She has a way with words, humour and real love that really tugs on the heartstrings and dances on your funny bone. With each book she continues to get better and better, even when I think there is no way she can beat her previous, BAM, she does it again. After this book, the follow-up to Not the One, I am certain that Daws is destined to be a bestselling author.

In this story, we are following Vi and Hayden. We get a look at their lives and where they are headed. This gives us a very unique perspective, versus the previous book.

I loved getting to know Hayden better. He is such a sweetie, even though he struggles daily to convince himself of his worth. He is a true gent and really fights to be what he loves and do what he believes in. He is determined in all aspects, except finding love, which is why it is so brilliant that she finds him.

Vi is a lovely character as well. She may have crazy protective brothers and one mental dog, but she is kind and true. She sees Hayden for who he is and what he wants to be. She believes in him and in them. I loved her attitude and the depth of personality that Daws gave her. Such a brilliant character.

The story was absolutely fantastic. The romance was very real. It had humour, tears, anger and every other emotion under the sun (or rain here in the UK), just like a real relationship does. Not everything goes to plan and they have to take it on the fly. I love that and getting to see their choices and reactions, as Daws has a real way of making their lives completely believable and realistic. I found it very easy to connect with them and, as always, Daws had me cheering for them to be together and happy.

Overall, this is a brilliant read. I highly recommend reading Not the One, or hell both that and the London Lovers series, first. It isn't needed and this truly can be read as a standalone, but the characters weave in and out of the books so beautifully that I really think you'd love it.
