The Bucket List by Chisto Healy, Mark Towse

5.0

There are certain things in life that just fill you with a level of unease. The things that shouldn’t are usually the worst. If I was walking through the woods in July and heard joyous Christmas music, you know i’m walking that little bit faster!

This is not the first time I’ve felt uncomfortable in a bed and breakfast and I hope it won’t be my last.

The writing here was great and while it’s sold as comedy/horror that would definitely be misleading. There are plenty of funny moments here sure, but that’s really in the style of writing. Don’t come here looking for a slapstick horror book, you will be left pretty unsettled.
I absolutely powered through this novella and didn’t realise the page count as it flowed so smoothly. The pacing was perfect, the characters wonderful and the grotesquery was on point.

Bone app the teeth.
