A Beastly Kind of Earl by Mia Vincy

4.0

I loved this book for its lighthearted sense of humour. There are some serious and sad things in each of the main characters’ pasts, but the book’s tone is quite fun regardless.

The two main characters are very likeable. I was glad it wasn’t a love/hate type of thing. The hero starts off gruff but it is quickly evident to the reader that he is not such a grump and loves the vivacity of the heroine. They pretend to be disinterested in each other, but it’s not a bickering relationship.

Super quick read, made me laugh, the plot is a typical silly kind of Regency romance, but I had such a good time reading it. The dialogue is great, and the heroine’s comments are constantly delightful. She has a tragic past but really is the type of character that is determined to make the best and thrive, so I loved that.

I enjoyed the part of the book where secrets are revealed and the reaction to it. There was only one part that I found dissatisfying but I won’t go into it because of spoilers.

This is my second Mia Vincy and I enjoyed this one MUCH more than the other one I read.

I think you can also read it as standalone and don’t have to read the rest of the series if you don’t want to.
