This book was described by reviewers as ‘mad,  sad and funny’ and that about sums it up. The  protagonist’s grief was visceral and wonderfully rich. I loved the Egg! The egg’s quirks and their strange but sweet friendship provided a much needed antidote to the heavy themes.
It’s definitely a unique book, and I’ve not read anything similar before. Recommended.
