The Tempest by William Shakespeare

***SPOILERS***

I think this may become one of my favourite plays. I wasn't sure what genre this play was, so I didn't know whether it would end in doom or death or marriage, but it turns out that this one has a happy ending (for most people, at least). I liked the theme of forgiveness in this, and especially the scene between Ariel and Prospero about it really spoke to me; if Ariel, a spirit, could feel pity, then surely a human being must feel it too. The play has some beautiful quotations and a lovely sappy romance. I loved it, and let's face it, it's nice not to end with a heap of corpses for once.
