Sigh! This is the end. At first I was happy and maybe relieved that this was the last book. I was a bit done with this story, even though I loved it very much. But now that it has ended, I still wish there was more.

In the last book of the immortal series Ever and Damen are faced with their last task. They meet a crazy old woman who speaks in riddles and declares that Ever's destiny is to release all immortals from their immortality. Her journey starts in a long ago time. Before she was Ever or all those other girls. A time where she was Adelina, where her reincarnating began. After reliving the beginning she accepts her journey to free the immortals of physical immortality and only give their soul immortality. But Damen is reluctant to follow her, so when he starts his work on the antidote - they know, because Roman told them after they freed him, Drina, Haven and all the other lost souls from the shadowland - Ever travels to the tree of life. Finding the fruits and giving the choice to the immortals turned by Roman to give up their immortality, there is only Damen left to convince. But what will he choose?

I loved this ending. It was much better than the previous books, especially because Ever finally made some wise decisions. She was independent, she fought for what she thought was the best and she finally saw her true destiny. And she got her happy ending nonetheless. All's well that ends well, right. Though I would not have been surprised if it would've ended a bit different. Damen seemed very reluctant in the end and I honestly never believed he would make the right decision, but he did!

Jude gets his happy ending with Honor, I suppose. Sabine and Munoz are getting married, Miles has Holt and a future as broadway star. Roman and Drina found each other, in soul form and Haven finally found her true self, also in soul form. And last but not least, Ever and Damen found each other, and they will again and again and again. Because they may no longer have physical immortality, their souls are immortal from now on and they are destined to find each other in every next lifetime.
