The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley

adventurous emotional mysterious slow-paced

5.0

I loved this book! I'll try to articulate why, but to say it in once sentence: it's soooo good.
There's the characters. Their relationships. Nuanced and complicated. So beautifully described, with all the details that make them like real people.
There's the environment. Always present: the cold of the mountain air, the warmth of a fire. Every time I opened the book I was transported to the story - I was completely immersed.
There's the plot. It's the small crumbs of foreshadowing that follow the point of view character across the book, slowly adding more detail to the mystery, until the reader sees the picture getting clearer as each puzzle piece is added.
This is an absolutely fantastic book, I don't have words to describe it. Natasha Pulley is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors.
