Some might say that pointing fingers in the case of this book is stupid but it needs to be said -
THE SUN IS THE CULPRIT
. This book was on the required reading list in my high school and when we talked about it it was always said that Meursault
was doomed because he was phlegmatic
. I feel like that is so wrong. He always described to the details how he felt about things even if it was basic stuff. He was very emotionally mature and just because you feel differently about stuff than him doesn’t mean
he’s the bad guy (as 90% of the people in the book thought)
. I just feel Meursault was misunderstood not only in the book but by a lot of readers
(maybe it is just his fate - as he said “I might have done something else. What diference did(would) it make?”
