I picked this up because it had a pullquote from [a:Ursula K Leguin|16045462|Ursula K Leguin|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png], and South American sci-fi sounded intriguing.

Yeah, this wasn't for me. It felt like a fantastic-ish retelling of the coming of the Europeans to South America, with a bit of the narrative surreality of reading the [b:Popol Vuh|158262|Popol Vuh|Anonymous|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1348843767s/158262.jpg|1922629]. It was mildly entertaining to try to figure out who betrayer groups might be standing in for, but, at the end of the day (and book), I was unhappy with the lack of resolution at the end. Bleh.
