The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout

5.0

This is how I started my review for book 3 of this series: "I cannot believe I have resisted reading this series for as long as I did. I wish I would have read it sooner but I'm so glad I didn't because I would not have been able to wait for subsequent books to come out." And therein lies my mistake: I started this series believing for some reason that the last book of the series was already out, but it is clear from the way this book ended that that is, in fact, not the case. AND WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE MEANTIME, HUH???

This series is great. It has everything I love - fated mates, vampires, dragons, daring rescues.

**SPOILER**

There is a threesome in this book. And I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it, not because I have a problem with threesomes. like at all. But I am very invested in the relationships between the main characters, Poppy and Casteel's, as well as their intense platonic relationships, and so I was nervous about how that was going to play out and possibly change dynamics. I'm a staunch advocate of intense platonic relationships between members of the opposite sex so I wasn't really looking forward to elevating that relationship to a sexual level. But it's actually done really well here. In fact, at one point it seemed like maybe the situation wouldn't escalate to a sexual situation and, as much as I had originally NOT wanted it, I started to feel a little pissy at the idea that I might be cheated out of it! But it happened and everyone's relationships seem intact and largely unchanged so, you know, successful threesome, I guess!
