The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye by David Lagercrantz

If I were reviewing this as a standalone novel I'd probably give it a solid 3, as a continuation of a series I really enjoy I feel like this merits a 2-2.5 rating because it was so disappointing.
I don't think David Lagercrantz was a good choice to take over from Larsson as he just doesn't seem to understand Lisbeth or Mikhael, his versions of both seem flat. The Girl in the Spider's Web was better but still not anywhere near Larsson.
We know that Larsson had planned out where the story was going to go before his death, and I feel like it wouldn't have been in the direction of super predictable plot lines.
Its really sad that a series I loved so much seems to have been taken over by a James Patterson-esque author invested in cranking out books rather than quality. I'll probably give him one more chance, and might wait for it to come out in paperback rather than preordering a pricey hardcover.
