3.0

Stella North is one of twelve young pilots competing in a 1937 air race meant to promote peace in Europe. One of her competitors is sabotaged and Stella is determined to find the murderer. This is plot forward and packed with the historical politics and culture of Europe’s pre–World War II era. I enjoyed the aviation history but some of the dramatic chase scenes in the skies above the Alps and on the streets of Nazi-controlled Hamburg felt too long to me. Back matter includes a bibliography. Well researched but just not my favorite Wein book.
