This is one of the very few books I DNF'd. Normally I simply continue reading until the end, even if I am not enjoying the book. This particular novel managed, somehow, to anger me with the introduction alone. With a bitter taste in my mouth and not enjoying the first chapter at all, I decided to set this one aside. I just can't read over a thousand pages of a book I simply don't like.
It's a shame, really. There is a lot of extra things in the back of the book, notes from the author and such. For fans this is an absolutely wonderful edition. Perhaps I'll try to read it once more in a few years or so. But, for now, its going to remain a DNF.
