i think the pace in this book was good enough, definitely better in comparison to other books i've read these days cause i've been reading alot that are just reeaallyy slow paced for no reason.

the whole "we are not alone in the universe" and its actually terrifying monsters genuinely caught me off guard, so that was something new too

because i feel like i never get surprised with media anymore which gets a little tiring. and while it wasn't completely and utterly unique or a new concept at all, i genuinely enjoyed reading it and was very entertained. a non-OP main character was a breath of fresh air to me especially being so used to characters that can burn down entire countries or control time or freeze everything - great.
