The Marriage Effect by Karla Sorensen
4.0

Fun marriage of convenience story.
Flighty Ex-supermodel Paige finds out she's inherited 3 million dollars from her spinster aunt, with the proviso that she must be married within 6 months or the money will go to her skeevy cousin.

Logan is a veteran defender on the Washington Wolves NFL team. He's serious (grumpy), focused, and stays out of the spotlight. He's been the sole guardian of his 4 much younger half-sisters for the last few years (since his father died and their mother ran off). His married brother is threatening to take custody of the girls, though they want to remain living with Logan.

Logan and Paige end up in a marriage of convenience without really knowing each other at all. Paige is thrown into the dramas of the girls' lives... a set of rambunctious 12-year-olds who love to prank, an introverted 14-year-old with serious abandonment issues, and a boy-crazy 16-year-old with a crush on the next-door neighbour.

The chemistry between the MC's is great. Logan is holding back from Paige because he knows there's an expiration date to their marriage and is protecting his sisters (and himself), while Paige is full-steam ahead, but still subconsciously has one foot out the door.

Watching the relationship grow between the MC's and particularly, the girls and Paige were great.

A good sequel to the first book in the series with Paige's best friend Allie.

This book contains a descriptive love scene.
