The start of a fabulous why choose duet that’s at the darker end of the spectrum as Aurora, escaping an abusive relationship nearly kills someone when she’s distracted. Fortunately, no harm was done but her ‘victim’ and his friends insist on her returning to their home where she can work off her crime. Considering their home is an estate filled with treasures and she had nowhere else to go, it wasn’t much of a hardship and before long, she finds herself drawn to all three and soon becomes involved with their plans.
I loved the mystery element of the story as the three heroes schemed and plotted their revenge. Each of the three ‘heroes’ were distinct characters, Seven had a touch of a jokester about him, Elijah the tortured soul and Atticus the distrustful one but there was a darkness uniting them and Aurora felt herself drawn to each of them but then she’s got secrets and a darkness of her own.. With plenty of twists and turns to ramp up the suspense before ending on a cliffhanger – well it is a duet so what else would you expect and as cliffys go it wasn’t really a bad one, but I still can’t wait to see whats in store for this foursome.
