The book started off promising, with the drowning and coming to terms that he's in a new world. However, the main character should've just drowned so that this story would've been over as soon as it started. The main character is extremely cringy and unrelatable and gives off heavy "how do you do, fellow kids?" vibes. It doesn't help that he gains these cheesy as hell life lessons and says them as if they're amazing advice to follow. The only characters I liked were the animal "friends" because they're just chilling on the island, being free.
