The Dating Playbook by Farrah Rochon
4.0

I'm a sucker for a sports romance, and this was a pretty cute one! The Dating Playbook is the second in The Boyfriend Project series, and I liked this one more than the first book. The fake dating trope actually works here and doesn't feel overdone or completely unbelievable. It is solidly written but it still had a few issues.

Taylor was a hard worker and had lofty goals, but was also a bit of a mess and read quite a bit younger than 28 to me. She was my biggest struggle in this book. I didn't connect with her personality as much as I wanted to. She was willing to go after what she wanted and grew a lot without losing that spark that makes her, her. I can appreciate that. Now, Jamar was a pure dreamboat boyfriend. He was kind, supportive, and understanding, but also not afraid to challenge Taylor to make her better. I loved them together and thought they balanced each other out well.

The friend group was absolutely a highlight of the story. I loved seeing the ladies who were treated so poorly by a guy at the beginning of the first book, continue to support and build each other up. It was a fun dynamic.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I'm excited for London's story next. Hopefully the author will end the series with a hit for me!
