He's Not My Type by Meghan Quinn

Unexpected delight

I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. I was drawn into this story from the first chapter. I immediately loved Halsey and Blakely, and the rest of the agitators were the cherry on top. This book had me laughing out loud multiple times. I loved the slow burn and how Halsey and Blakely developed a friendship and mutual respect for each other. Blakely was so kind and open, while the shy, reserved Halsey was full of warmth.

Most of this book felt lighthearted, but during the last two chapters we got a deep glimpse into Halseys background with his brother and family. I was shedding tears over those moments between him, his teammates and Blakely. I really loved this story even though I’m not usually one for the “he falls first trope”. Halsey was shy and reserved, but during those spicy scenes, he was all alpha with a dirty dirty mouth, so that balanced him out perfectly.

Overall though, this is a great book and I loved all of these characters so much!
