KA books sometimes act as palate cleansers, where you can just read or even skim occasionally and nothing is missed. It doesn't demand anything from me as a reader but serves to wipe my brain clean of any lingering book hangover. It's fine while reading it, even mildly engaging but totally forgettable. This wasn't even that. It was punishingly boring and tedious.
