The characters were written like they were children the entire book - they never matured or learned from mistakes. They just kept making the same decision over and over again. I couldn’t care about them or what happened to them because they were so selfish and un-lovable. Even when the big surprise event that “changed everything” Happened, I didn’t feel anything for the characters. They still didn’t grow or change after the “big event”. Ultimately it was boring and slow and uneventful.
